Dining Facilities
Light lunches and sandwiches are served from Tuesday to Friday. Full luncheon is served on Wednesdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays we hold a bridge supper, open to all members and their guests. With notice, given adequate economic numbers, often full Luncheon can be served on Tuesdays and Thursdays by special arrangement.
Menus feature a blend of European and modern British food - always with fresh ingredients.
We have seen how tastes and standards have changed over the years and invite members to give us some feedback so we can provide the kind of food and service people want.
Sunday Luncheon on a monthly basis at a very competitive price is proving a great success, with a succulent Carvery and first-class vegetables and trimmings, followed by a very attractive range of desserts or cheese and biscuits.
Our regular Thursday Club Suppers exhibit a wide range of menus, often with an attractive national theme, such as the ever-popular mouth-watering Scandinavian evening.
We hold about a dozen black-tie dinners throughout the year. These include Burns Night, Thanksgiving, Valentines, St. George, Waterloo, Battle of Britain and Trafalgyar – often we try something new, such as a St. David’s Night.
The Wine Club has a quarterly dinner and there are also wine tastings every quarter. We take particular pride in our wines, which have been carefully selected from the lists of eight wine merchants.
