The Digital TV Switch-over: Members Enlightened !

March 8th 2010

Members were very appreciative that Tim Moss, Managing Diretcor of Bath's long-established and foremost electronics installer and supplier, Moss of Bath, came to the Club on the 4th of March to explain the impact of the imminent switch-over of television transmissions from the current method to digital. Tim was crystal clear and witty, cutting through the jargon of recent confusing publicity and repsonding to the many questions positively and helpfully. Wetting St. David's Head....

March 1st 2010

Hot on the heels of last Friday's successful Wine-Tasting Dinner, Members and guests again packed the Dining Room to capacity for a jolly St. David's Day Lunch on Sunday 28th of February, organised by Denise Pickett and family. Denise decorated the room with daffodils and a new Welsh flag, her daughter scoured Cardiff market for some splendid Welsh cheeses and her son & daughter-in-law's bright-as-a-button baby Hannah entertained her table quietly as she munched Japanese crackers for both courses! The rest enjoyed Chef Lorna's best beef or Welsh lamb and a very witty speech about "St David the Aquatic", as he was known, was given by Ceri Preece, Secretary of the Cardiff County Club, over the border for the occasiion. Sadly no camera was on hand to record the very enjoyable event, but we'll buck up on that next time.

Flat-Capper Sent Away Bareheaded

February 27th 2010

Sadly, in the recent perishing weather, a Member was made bereft of the protection of his beloved Barbour flat cap after depositing it on the Club coat rack during the recent ESU Dinner. He is confident that someone had a Senior Moment and took it by mistake, and has declared an amnesty if the the cap is returned before he perishes from a head-cold. Click "Read More", below for a picture.
